An ex-husband, a new love, a stalker.  Cathy Thompson’s link to her ex-husband fills her life with threats and intimidation.  She must either trap her stalker or find Geoffrey to put an end to her life of fear.

I’m pleased to welcome Rita Lee Chapman to my blog. She sat down recently for a chat with Cathy Thompson, one of the lead characters in Rita’s new chilling crime thriller, Dangerous Associations. It’s all yours, Rita.

For those who don’t know you, Cathy, tell us a little about yourself and where you live.

Hello, Rita. I’m Cathy Thompson, Australian born and bred, and I work for a law firm. I live in Sydney, the most beautiful city in the world, and have a sister, Jan, and a best friend, Jenny.

I hear your marriage to Geoffrey didn’t work out so well. What happened?

Well, you know how it is. When we first married, everything was wonderful, and then gradually we drifted apart and he ended up treating me rather badly. I knew I should leave him, but you keep thinking it will get better, and I took my marriage vows seriously. Geoffrey was drinking more and more and seeing other women. It took the accident to give me the courage to change my life.

The good news is, you have a new guy, Rob Featherstone. What’s he like?

Rob, oh, he’s just wonderful. So different from Geoffrey in every way. He’s good-looking, kind, considerate, attentive and we talk and talk. He’s my soulmate.

I’d think everything would be hearts and flowers in your world now, but you’ve been having some problems?

Yes, Rita. Everything with Rob is great, but I’ve been having problems with a stalker. This horrible guy is trying to find my ex, and he won’t believe that I have no idea where Geoffrey is now.

That’s rough. What else has been going on in your life?

Well, my career has progressed and I’m a paralegal now. They are always in demand so it’s much easier to change jobs now if I move around, and of course, the pay is better. Rob and I have been enjoying outings on Sydney Harbor in his boat. Being out on the water, bobbing around on the waves, sipping our champagne, slipping over the side for a swim is like a mini holiday, and I always come back feeling refreshed.

If only I could find a way to rid myself of this stalker, life would be fantastic. Or maybe I need to find Geoffrey. Do you think I can find him if they can’t? I don’t think he wants to be found, actually.  This stalker has me really frightened and jumpy. I never know where he is going to turn up next or what he is going to do to us.

I’m so sorry to hear that Cathy.  I’ll keep my fingers crossed that things turn out okay for you.

Rita, can I ask you something?  You’re not going to kill me off, are you?
